Built in 1826, the Nathan Wild House is a grand
residence on the National Register of Historic Places. Many historic
figures were guests at the house, including President Martin Van
Buren (who used to ride over on horseback for breakfast), Amelia
Earhardt and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The house boasts original
wide-plank wood floors, a sweeping staircase, 5 fireplaces and a
ballroom with elaborate plaster-work.
B&B guests are served breakfast in the elegant
Greek Revival dining room. The meal is served in front of a roaring
fire in the wintertime.
The north wing of the house has been turned into
an elegant two-story guest house. It is completely private with
elegant bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting room, dining room, kitchen
and fireplace. The entire wing can be rented by guests staying 6
nights or longer and who wish to prepare their own meals. It is
ideal for one or two adult couples.
All bedrooms include private baths, air conditioning
and cable TV. For more details and photos, please see our guided
tour of the house and property. To request a reservation,
